Hygiene/health is the most important criterion in food production.

For this reason, the plate heat exchangers used in the food industry are completely made of stainless steel. Thus, the food products come into contact only with gaskets and stainless steel plates that have a Certificate of Conformity.
Plate heat exchangers can be used in various systems in various food processing plants. For example; Pasteurization systems can be divided into heating and cooling systems (one-stage, two-stage or regenerative).

Pasteurization of Milk and Dairy Products

Pasteurization is a process used to kill harmful bacteria in milk and dairy products. Thanks to the multi-stage design of the plate heat exchangers, they can be easily used for pasteurizing liquid food products. The biggest advantage of using plate heat exchangers in the pasteurization process is that they can reach high regeneration rates.

Thanks to the multi-stage design of the plate heat exchangers, the milk is located in the heat exchanger loop, and thus the hot milk coming from the heating and going to the cooling stage collides with the cold milk entering the heating stage, and heat transfer take place. This system saves energy and time and completes the pasteurization process quickly and cost-effectively. Hygienic inlets and outlets for equipment such as multistage plate heat exchangers, separators, homogenizers, holders, and degasser individualy designed by Experphe.

CIP Application

When processing foods suitable for bacterial growth, such as milk and dairy products, hygiene is the most important factor. Cleaning activities should be carried out at a specific time to prevent the formation of bacteria on the process line and also the ensuring its hygiene. The fluid used for this cleaning is called CIP. This CIP fluid must circulate in the system at a constant, defined flow rate. Plate heat exchangers provide CIP fluids with the desired operating environment.

Chemical Applications

Chemical fluids used in the chemical industry must be heated or cooled depending on the process requirement. For these processes to proceed properly, it is important to maintain the desired temperature values. On heating with steam or hot water, the cooling process can be accomplished by such systems as cooling towers or chillers. The main problem in the chemical industry is the aggressiveness of the chemical used. Aggressive chemicals pose a hazard to both the plates and the seals of plate heat exchangers. Therefore, it is very important to properly plan the choice of plate and gasket when selecting a plate heat exchanger. In ExperPHE plate heat exchangers, solutions can be obtained depending on the application and the chemicals using double-walled plates and special gaskets.
